Revolution of aquariums
In 1951, natural scientist Dr. Ulrich Baensch the company Tropenhaus (later Tetra) in Hanover. Two years later, he founded the BioMin laboratory, where he could test and develop his products extensively. During this time, he brought many innovations to the market and registered several patents. At the beginning of the 70s, production was extended to the new location in Offelten. Tetra now has approx. 420 employees. At this time, the first Tetra expedition to the Amazon took place. In 1974, the company was then sold to the American concern Warner-Lambert, making the first step in the globalization of the company.
