Eukanuba Sterilised/Weight Control Cat Dry Food
Special, high-quality food for adult cats with a tendency to obesity.
Cats living and sterilised in the home tend to gain weight. Overweight can cause health problems such as diabetes and skin diseases, increased risk of narcosis and shorter life. A diet that has a reduced fat content and contains L-carnitine, a natural substance to increase fat burning, can have a positive effect.
- Supports an optimal body weight thanks to 40% less fat (compared to Eukanuba Top Condition 1+).
- Supports healthy weight thanks to L-carnitine (optimised fat burning).
- No added artificial preservatives, flavours or dyes.
Eukanuba promotes 6 key performance areas of the cat body.
1. Vitality.
Your cat loves and needs regular exercise. It is exposed to a number of environmental influences and needs strong natural defences to protect it. High-quality, easily digestible food ingredients as well as some special ingredients such as the antioxidant vitamin E support the natural defences of your cat day after day. Antioxidants are important because they counteract excessive ageing processes of body cells and strengthen the immune system of your older cat.
2. Digestion.
In order to make cats feel comfortable all the way around, it requires a food that provides highly digestible protein, for example chicken, lamb or fish, as well as carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals. Furthermore, cats need a certain type and amount of fibres such as the prebiotics FOS (fructooligosaccharides), which support digestion and contribute to a healthy digestive tract.
3. Urinary tract.
Some cats are prone to urinary tract diseases, while others have no problem with it. Struvite urinary stones are most common in cats. These are made from various minerals including magnesium. Food can play a significant role in maintaining urinary tract. Eukanuba products have a high content of animal proteins that naturally regulate the pH value of the urinary as well as a low magnesium content. Both factors support a healthy urinary tract.
4. Low-fat muscles.
Food is crucial for maintaining low-fat body mass that keeps your cat in shape and enjoy an active life. For a strong, healthy muscles, cats need high-quality animal protein. A diet with premium products such as Eukanuba, which contain animal proteins from chicken, lamb, fish or egg, supports the development and maintenance of low-fat muscles. Such food in combination with regular movement promotes mobility and functionality of the muscles.
5. Skin and fur.
Skin and fur are the body's first defence mechanism. The hair contributes significantly to the regulation of body temperature by trapping air that surrounds the body as an insulating layer. The fur is almost exclusively made of proteins. One third of the daily protein intake is required for skin and coat alone. Animal protein, zinc, copper and omega-6 and omega-3 fatty acids in optimal ratio are crucial nutritional ingredients for healthy skin and a beautiful coat that most clearly reflects a healthy diet.
6. Teeth
Even at the age of 3, more than 70% of cats show signs of diseases of the teeth and/or the mouth cavity. Plaque builds up continuously on the teeth and leads to the formation of tartar, bad breath and gingivitis. Without treatment, the loss of teeth and problems with food intake occurs. Wild cats do dental care by breaking down prey with teeth before eating. The pellets of Eukanuba food cause a mechanical cleaning of the teeth during the meal, removing plaque. By reducing plaque, tartar formation can be reduced.
