Die Wassertemperatur in Aquarien wird sowohl von der Raumtemperatur als auch von der Sonneinstrahlung beeinträchtigt. Besonders im Sommer muss die Temperatur im Aquarium regelmäßig kontrolliert werden, da die Raumtemperatur deutlich ansteigt. Ideal sind Temperaturen zwischen 24 und 26°C.
