FX2 – Powerful External Filter, up to 750L The FX Series, which is considered a "workhorse among external filters due to its legendary strength and longevity, is capable of delivering up to 3,500 l/h. in aquariums with up to 1,500 litres of water. This impressive performance cleans the aquarium more thoroughly and quickly. Thanks to the combination of patented SMART PUMP performance optimization technology with the automatic start-stop and sophisticated multi-stage filtering with a large basket-in-basket design, FX owners spend more time enjoying their aquarium, and less time maintaining it. Multi-stage filtering The FX Series filters feature 2 inset red baskets for greater media capacity and flexibility. As with all Fluval filters, the water flows through each media stage in a neat order to ensure thorough cleaning. This process is more efficient and effective than some competitive filters that guide water through all stages in one step. Media Compatibility The size of the red basket and white inner basket is the same for all FX models, allowing for a unified media offering. Bio-Foam The FX2 Bio-Foam (the only new medium in the range) is thinner than traditional organic foam, but has a ribbed surface structure that increases the surface area to efficiently trap dirt particles and increase biological activity. This is specifically designed due to the smaller size of the FX2. Smart Pump Technology The patented Smart Pump technology uses an electronic board to continuously monitor the pump. The speed and drive force of the impeller are constantly measured to ensure high performance and energy efficiency. Smart Pump technology is also important for the dissipation of air that can accumulate in the system. Every 12 hours, the filter takes a break and allows the trapped air to escape, so that the maximum filter performance is maintained. Smooth water changes. The FX4 and FX6 feature a multifunctional drain valve at the bottom of the filter container that allows you to empty the external filter and perform an uncomplicated water change by draining and refilling the water here (all without disturbing your aquarium setup or aquarium inhabitants). An added bonus is two handy hose clamps that are located on the filter cover and allow easy storage of the hose when not in use.
